Easter Beyond Binaries

This series of haikus was written to celebrate the intersections between Holy Week, the worlds around and within us, and justice. It laments culture wars and celebrates all that lives between and beyond binaries.

Monday

Lichen - species or…
multiplicities? Dwellers
of the unlikely.

Tuesday

Fire. Solid? Liquid?
Gas? Plasma? no - none of these
Crossing boundaries.

Wednesday

An axolotl -
Juvenile, adult, or both?
Regenerating.

Thursday

Dark matter, known only…
By effets, unseen,
Immeasurable.

Friday

The earthworm, male, female,
Both, neither, chaos and form,
Alive in their graves.

Saturday

Us - images of
A God who harrows culture
Wars - a hell we made.

Sunday

And the “male” seahorse -
Carrying eggs which
Burst forth in new life.
